The owner must be present with his passport at the time of custom clearance.


Value of goods for custom purposes - Depreciated value and for insurance please declare replacement value.



It is beneficial to retain receipts (If possible) for custom evaluation purposes.



Custom forms are provided by us for filing with customs. We will be happy to assist you in filling these forms.

Diplomats are allowed to take container to residence.However incase of non - diplomats container is stuffed/destuffed at port or ICD.



If all required documents are in order it will take two days to custom clear a shipment.



Custom authorities carry out random check of shipment. If declaration is correct, Random examination is sufficient.



Benefit of transfer of residence is based on one person per family.



You can import more than one shipment provided all are shipped within time limit



After availing transfer of residence, the owner is required to stay in India for more than One Year, However for short visit one has to apply on his letter head at the time of leaving the country, undertaking to return, and customs usually allows the same.




Free allowance of INR 25,000 Per passenger can be availed only in case of accompanied baggage. There is no free allowance for Unaccompanied baggage.


Landing certificate is no more required to clear cargo through customs. Hence if you have nothing to declare at the time to arrival please walk through green channel.
 
In case of FCL Shipments for Delhi, Bangalore or Hyderabad we recommand of sending container on   through  bill of lading,   freight  prepaid  upto   ICD (  Inland Container Depot  ) Bangalore  or Hyderabad.


If  delivery is near an Inland Container Depot - New Delhi, Bangalore, or Hyderabad. Please route on Liner Bill of Landing  through to Inland Container Depot. This will be advantageous to your client and should also result in cost saving.



Please note that due to customs regulations the containers are destuffed at the customer terminal (exception - diplomatic consignments ) however, consignments to Delhi, Bangalore Terminal may be loose packed as satisfactory facilities exist at the Terminal.


Avoid NVOCC shipping as it may lead to delay in customs release and high NVOCC fees.


Please do obtain owner's arrival date in India as there is a time limit to ship the goods :

Unaccompanied  baggage must be dispatched by air within 15 days and by sea within 30 days of owner's arrival in India ( the delay may be condoned on merits ).
